You all know what SEO is; it stands for Search Engine Optimization. Now if you have a web-log or website, chances are you have taken extensive measures to get
your site indexed by search engines. It is most likely that you have done a substantial amount pinging, or even used several SEO Plugins just to make sure that your site rise on top pages of search engines. All these are very necessary step to do just for SEO purpose.
But have you at one point asked yourself why many of these sites don’t get even close to top 100 of search engine results? Regardless of the amount of efforts put onto them for SEO purposes. NOW here is why;
Making your website search engine friendly does not only rely on using all the so called SEO tools, or having a site map on you website, or even having a disclaimer and privacy policy on your site, although these factors contributes to that, but It is far more than that.

- Give good titles to your topics or content; try to make them keyword friendly, so that they get good impressions from user related keyword searches.
- It is not advisable to have most of your content in image or flash format, because search engine robots will not be able to crawl on them.
- Try to publish quality content on your site, and avoid duplication of copying content from other sources, write valuable content that will attract good number of visitors and make sure to avoid spelling and grammar errors as this will make your site look unprofessional.
These are very basic rules and simple to implement but have huge impact on not only SEO but also to the overall performance reliability of your website. So before you start putting hours on trying to promote your site using all other methods, make sure you have taken care of the basic fine tuning of your product (Website) first, then go on doing the extensive Marketing (promoting and pinging). By doing this you will see the results in a relatively short period than otherwise.
